The longer I sit with this book the more I absolutely adore it. I read it last month and originally have it four stars if I remember correctly, but the longer I think about it and look at the world through the context of the book the more I can't stop thinking about it. The book is a satire on corporate culture and the ways in which it is a club from which people of color and more specifically Black people are excluded from. It examines wealth structures, racism, family dynamics, and communities all with a strong sense of it's goal. Askaripour is an absolute genius and I can't wait to read more of his work. All of the characters were incredibly compelling and I hated them so much, but that didn't stop them from having layers and becoming more and more complex as the story progressed and the themes developed. Would absolutely recommend to anyone. 10/10
