I loved this book! BlackBuck by Mateo Askaripour is a fantastic work of fiction that shows the power of satire at its finest. The plot is fast paced, the characters are dynamic, and the storyline is so interesting and relevant. I felt all the emotions by the time I reached the fantastically surprising end.
This book is a lesson in racism, classism and reminds us of the saying, "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!" This story reminds us that hard work is not the only reason for success...connections, wealth and status are a huge part of how this country runs but also oppresses. The plot of this book gives you whiplash in a good, twisted way. And the ending is one of the most surprising I've seen in a book in quite a while!
I also highly recommend the audiobook version because Zeno Robinson brought this book to life in a way that few narrators do for me. Highly recommend this book from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt!
