The description of this book was not something that would have made me read it. I don't think I would have picked it up on my own. Once I started reading, I noticed that it was easy to read- without unnecessary descriptions or boring details.

The narration is very well written. It sucks the reader in and allows me to spend time with a completely different character than I am. Anticipation is well built-up (the beginning of chapter 6), and once we arrive at his first day at work, things get serious. It's NOT a book for children.

I wouldn't say I like the cartoony cover for that reason. The symbolism isn't lost on me, but book covers do capture the reader (wither you like it or not). Based on the excerpt, this book is excellent.
