As a Black woman in America I feel like I can relate to Buck when it comes to work place. Often times I was the only Black employee and there was a burden that comes along in that position because you set the tone for future Black employees. I've been asked questions that I'm sure other White employees were asked about themselves but am expecting to maintain my composure at all time. Even though the first look starts at Chapter 5, there is a lot going on in this chapters and I'm wondering how it will unfold especially after this part in the book.
“Got you, Buck! Ha-ha! I thought the white would help you fit in

Really?? Even though this is a book I'm not even surprised.
