The cover is eye-catching for sure. The synopsis sounds promising. But I really couldn't gauge the story from the excerpt. Because the excerpt starts at chapter 5, I felt disjointed. The writing was fairly good, but it was a bit hard to follow with no context or introduction to the characters. And that weird "reader" quote right before the last line of chapter 5 felt oddly misplaced and disrupted the flow. So this is a firm maybe. I might pick it up and flip through it.
