I don't know if it's just me but my First Impression excerpt started at chapter 5. I didn't have any pretext to who the characters were and what was going on so I started off confused. Still I figured out that Darren got a new job and it was his first day of work. His work environment seems intense, filled with testosterone, emotionally abusive, and cult-ish. I could only imagine what working in this toxic environment would lead to.
Based on the First Impression I wasn't drawn into the story so I wouldn't read on. The swearing and sudden cuts of Darren imagining sex with his girlfriend is not my style.
