So this first impression starts at chapter 5? I always find it a little bit hard to get into first impressions that start beyond the beginning of the novel. No fault of the novel, it is just hard to assess when it feels like you've missed a lot of important information to open the book. The premise is interesting to me, and what I read was good - I just personally found it hard to assess when I felt like I missed a big chunk.
