The prologue definitely intrigued me! Is it told from Eva's perspective? If not Eva, then who??
Then we move to present day, in which Eva's life seems to be coming together. I loved the descriptive writing style - her engagement ring, the gallery.
And so much happened in these first few chapters - lightening strike, a murder. It seems like maybe the author is trying to write about too much too fast, but the tactic works because I definitely want to keep reading.
In the last chapters, we meet Kat and Rose. What is Rose's story? She is wealthy and yet her daughter is unkempt. I loved the description of Laura. She seems precocious and funny.
I will have to buy a copy of this book to read more!
