Forgettable but fine
Behind Every Lie by Christina McDonald | review
Genre: Triller.
Rating: Three enjoyable, but very forgettable stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Y’all- I am suffering from a major case of thriller fatigue. I picked Behind Every Lie up last month and was super excited for a twisty thriller. Over all, this was a quick, fun read but it fell short for me in the memorable category. Will I remember this book next month? NOPE. I barely remember it now two weeks later.
⚡️ Eva is stuck by lightening the same night her mother is killed. She can’t remember a thing and is horrified by the thought that she might have harmed her mom! Insert, overplayed unreliable narrator and I was annoyed. Why is that used in every other thriller these days?!
⚡️ I don’t want to act like I hated this book, because I really didn’t. It was a quick, somewhat fun book that kept me interested. It’s just later that you realize how ridiculous and silly the plot really was!
Next! I will be focusing on some romances and historical fiction for a while!
