If you have read The Night Olivia Fell by Christina McDonald last year, you probably have expectations about Behind Every Lie. BEL is a totally different kind of book - more confused woman can't remember a terrible crime she may have committed and less emotional heartwrenching suspense. Told in alternating perspectives and timelines, we learn whether Eva Hansen is really responsible for her own mother's death and how exactly this came into question in the first place!

Behind Every Lie was fast paced and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. However, a lot of it was just too farfetched for me and took away some of my enjoyment. Overall, still an enjoyable read, but lacking the emotional component I loved in her prior work.
