A well written psychological thriller with many twists. Once I got started reading I simply could not put it down. I enjoyed the development of the characters in this story and was anxious to learn more about Eva and her family secrets. Eva is struck by lightening one dark and stormy evening close to her mother’s house and the next day she is informed that her mother was brutally murdered and she is a suspect. Eva has no memory of the night in question and begins questioning everything she has ever known. The story rewinds to 25 years earlier through the eyes of her mother. As the story begins to unfold, Eva questions who she is and who she can trust and finds deceit in a place where she doesn’t expect it. I enjoyed the multiple viewpoints, it kept the story interesting. Be ready for an ending you don’t see coming. This jaw dropping conclusion had me thinking about this book long after I turned the last page!
