The book drew me in with the dynamics between Eva and her mother. The shifting in time keeps the book moving and makes me not want to put it down.

Eva’s relationship with her mother is a driver in this book. Eva is a character you will feel sorry for and hope she can work through her issues. Her mother is less likable and makes you understand Eva’s issues. Her favoritism of Eva’s brother is apparent and leads to Eva doubting herself.

My only issue with this big is the author gets too wordy with her descriptions at times and weighs the book down. The first few pages especially were wordy and I almost stopped. I’m glad I went further because the author picked it up and got less wordy as the book went on.

Great read and good premise!
