3.5 rounded up to 4 but there was a lot of little but not so little things about this book I realllllllly don't care for
like first off, its terrible that she lost her child but like you are 100% a horrible person if you try to badger someone to keep a pregnancy they didn't want let alone one from a rape they don't even remember. Like I have no problem with someone choosing to keep any pregnancy but it pretty much just seems like her mom harassed her into keeping the pregnancy and then harassed her for the whole 9 months of the pregnancy and it really glosses over the pregnancy itself but it mentions how the mom watched the daughters "belly grow as her checks grow more sunken" which like wtf that sounds.... messed up af. like yea. forcing your kid to go thru that isn't going to change anything and shes not you. "she doesn't know what shes giving up" like k theres plenty of childless ppl who are happy but nope you had to be an ahole and force your kid to carry a pregnancy that they seemingly (its a book so) didn't want to, harass them the whole pregnancy to keep the child, harassed her after birth to hold the child she has expressed for almost a whole year she doesn't want, and then. with your dying breath. tell her. to go find that kid, probs hoping shed be "A parent" to them. like just. ew.
The other thing is not super into gaslighting+ mental illness books.
