When Eva wakes up in the hospital, she has no idea where she is, how she got there, or what happened earlier the night she ended up there and it is not the first time she suffered temporary amnesia. The doctors inform her that she was struck by lightning. In the midst of this, the police show up and tell her that her mother was murdered the night Eva was struck by lightning and that she is a person of interest in her death.
Wow! That is a lot to take in and is an excellent set-up for what's to come. Eva must now uncover long-hidden family secrets to learn who would want to kill her mother. She loved her mother but keeps getting little flashes of memories from that night that make her wonder if she might really be the murderer. Her only lead takes her from her home in Seattle back to the London her mother came from, but leaving the country makes her look even more like a suspect in the investigator's eyes so she must find her answers fast before she is arrested and returned to America.
