I feel like this story has been done so many times. A mysterious past trauma, a murder, a panicky main character who lies to the person trying to help her (which I'm predicting will cause some completely avoidable problem later on in the book), a pushy detective, and my least favorite thing in mysteries: memory loss! What a convenient plot device that the main character and primary murder suspect was STRUCK BY LIGHTNING! and can't remember anything. This seems like your average mystery that's been done before. I didn't see anything new or special in the first few chapters.
