Initially I found the back and forth style of the chapters a little confusing, as it skips through several different perspectives, but it definitely made me want to know more as it left breadcrumb like hints at what has happened to her mother and the excerpt ended on a hint at something terrible happening in the past. I will probably end up reading this book to find out the whole picture as it's definitely piqued my interest.
