The cover is quite striking, and I knew I’d seen it before. I don’t remember requesting this title on Netgalley, but apparently I did because it’s currently sitting in my Declined Requests folder. It’s nice that I’ll have a chance to win a copy anyways on BookishFirst!

Honestly I wasn’t really sold until the last chapter in this preview, chapter six, that’s from Kat’s point of view. Both Eva’s fiancé, Liam, and her brother, Andrew, seemed rigid and annoying. I thought the first few chapters from Eva’s perspective were kind of choppy and a little hard to follow. And she has one of those fake Hallmark jobs—professional pottery maker—despite only starting a few years ago. The introduction of Rose and Laura at the very end is an unexpected twist that could really spice up what may have been a pretty generic premise.
