I was drawn in from the very first sentence. Eva's mother was murdered and it looks like the police suspect Eva. She was struck by lightening on the night if the murder and that has affected her memory. I have many questions that must be answered.When we are introduced to Eva she eludes to family secrets when pressed by her fiancee to meet her family. What could these secrets be? Who would want to murder her mother after she wins an award for saving a girls life? What IS the relationship between Laura and Rose and why is it the beginning of the end? I have never read this author yet,but I love how her writing style pulls you in and leaving you wanting more.
