Starting a book with a death scene is so engaging! I was pulled in from the beginning and trying to figure out what was happening with this young girl and her mother. The story seems to take a turn after the scene though and became a bit slow. So I am unsure about how it will turn back around in the following chapters. I am interested enough in thrillers to want to to continue.
