I liked this book and learning about the former life and relationship between Maddie and Jo. It was taut with suspense and drama. It created a sense that something was missing when the relationship ended. Maddie and Ian's background seemed detached. She was extremely into him, yet the book really missed showing what Ian felt for Maddie. There was a lot of description about him, but did not relate to what occurs in the book. It seemed like some of the build up was missing. I liked that the book went backward and forward in time to pick up the pieces so you could see what was going on. The ending fell a bit flat for me. I was not invested enough and would have liked to see an actual resolution as opposed to having a cut and dried end.
