In reading the excerpt there appears to be a lot of action from the get-go. I like a book that is upfront right away about what happens because you wonder about the who, what, why and what cause something to happen. The book right away grabs you and you want to know what happened on that day. You clearly know that there is a killing and as I reader, I cannot wait to find out the answers.
The over all synopses of the book sounds interesting as well, it appears to be a mixture of the suspense/thriller but a touch of history, family/domestic, and a love story. I would love to know what caused the epic day to occur and build upon the characters. The romance between Maddie and Ian sounds very interesting because it began overseas and you wonder why they ended up where they are at in the present.
What is left is a shocking crime. Constructively compelling and it appears to be one romantically twisted book that I would like to read.
