I had such high hopes as I was reading this book. I loved the travel centric tale and the foreign locals that our main cast finds themselves (Bulgaria, Macedonia, etc.). It seemed exotic and definitely drew me right in, since I love traveling. The first three quarters of the book were intriguing and really kept me guessing. Who was the one that died? Who was the killer?? About the last quarter of the book was a disappointment, though. I guessed the twist and the angle the book was taking. I was sad the author played on head injuries, making it seem like those who have a traumatic brain injury are likely to become violent sociopaths. That’s just not very likely. I felt like the author played on something medical that wasn’t well researched and it just came up short. It wasn’t a happy, tied up ending that one would expect. Overall, I liked most of the book, but was greatly disappointed in the direction the book ultimately took.
