This book seems like it has all the potential to be an amazing thriller! Maddie is a very relatable protagonist and has valid fears and anxieties that contribute to her character. However, we also get to see that she was once young and carefree and not as preoccupied with her worries. It makes the reader wonder what could have happened to change her so dramatically and how this will be explored in the story.
The book kicks off with a 911 call made on the day of the killing. We don't know who is dead or who killed who, and then the book launches into Maddie's narration. It is a great setup for a thriller, as we know the premise that we will eventually be returning to, but for now we get to enjoy the story and try to figure out the clues that will help us deduce what happens on the day of the killing. I hope that I get to read the rest of this book soon!
