Beautiful Bad is a fast paced mystery - not necessarily a thriller but definitely suspenseful. I loved how the story was told from perspectives of present day through the detective, and the past through main character Maddie - with some of her husband Ian's perspective thrown in every now and then. if the cover hadn't said that "the perfect marriage leads to the perfect crime" i might not have even guessed what the outcome would be. I loved all the characters despite any outcomes and I enjoyed traveling the world through them and understanding what may have led to the day of killing.
the only character i didn't like was Maddie's best friend Jo - i think she got the short end of the stick when being developed and created.
I can easily see this book becoming a popular thriller film. it is so intriguing and engaging. THe writing brought it all to vivid life.
