This thriller keeps you guessing for sure. The story is told from the past and present and by different characters, so it was a little confusing at first but once you get into it and know all the players it’s good. I kept thinking I knew what happened but really didn’t expect the ending. And then when I thought that was the end there were a couple more things that happened that I didn’t see coming! This was one where I was definitely talking to myself trying to figure it out!

Maddie is young living in the Balkans when she meets Ian for the first time. She is visiting her best friend Jo in the war-torn country and Ian is a bodyguard/security person that works in war-torn countries. Maddie and Ian end up getting married years later and having a son Charlie. When they are on a camping trip and Maddie suffers a horrible accident that she can’t seem to remember, she decides she needs to attend therapy. Through her sessions of writing and sharing her past you learn about when she and Ian first met, her friend Jo, all the people they met overseas and her parents. As Maddie starts to remember the camping trip night and brings up parts of her past you become very suspicious of everyone involved. This all leads up to the day of the killing which will leave you shocked when you find out what happened.
