It's interesting how this book starts out in the midst of the action, ostensibly a murder. We don't get to see the actual crime scene before it jumps back a bit to the supposed victim of the story is sitting down in therapy and expressing worries about many things, but most obvious, her husbands behavior and fear of what he might do to their child. Then it jumps back again, this time years, to show how they first met. The husband suffers from some sort of PTSD later on which triggers these mood swings she fears so much, so it would be interesting to see what caused that and the effects it had on their marriage.
