This story starts out with a "bam!" and a 911 call. What follows is a tense preliminary investigation of a house where something terrible has obviously happened. But, of course, before we can discover what it is, we're quickly jumped back in time to the perspective of another character. While this is following a pretty established storytelling mode, I did find myself intrigued enough by the initial description of the crime and of the voice of our narrator (the character set up in the time jumps to the past). I also really like the cover for this story!
