wow...this book’s opening chapters pack a punch, particularly the first one. the scene awaiting officer diane and the fact that the dispatcher feels it necessary to call in a detective right off the bat?? i want to know why maddie has a scar. i want to know what happened to these people. where did it all go wrong, b/c it most surely did!
