I absolutely loved Beasts of Prey. One fantasy trope that I think never gets old is the hunt for the mythical beast and mysterious murders. Ekon and Koffi are insanely likable and great characters, and I really loved Adiah too. The world and plot were so complex in the best way possible, but also made the book so readable.
My one critique would be that it’s a slightly newer take on a very typical plot, which makes it a bit predictable. I could guess the villain, a couple plot points, and a bit more. It didn’t make the book any less enjoyable, but I wished it could’ve been a little less predictable. However, the reason why plot points like the ones I recognized are used so much is really because they’re great at creating suspense, which they still did.
In conclusion, Beasts of Prey is a total must-read that I hope everyone goes crazy for once it’s out!
