I don’t often read fantasy but I picked this up on a whim and was NOT disappointed. This was an amazing YA fantasy, full of heart and heart pounding moments and characters you quickly grow to love. Koffi is an amazing protagonist and you root for her throughout, along with the other characters you meet along the way. I love the jungle setting, the terrifying beats, the Night Zoo. I absolutely can’t wait for the next book! I fell in love with the characters and everything that happened and my heart was often pounding as I was reading. This definitely isn’t my normal genre but that didn’t stop me from being pulled in and enjoying every minute of it. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the next book! I’ve been recommending this book to everyone I know, no matter what type of reader they are there’s something for everyone to enjoy! YA fantasy is such an underrated genre!
