This book hooked me from the first sentence. This does not happen very often when I read. I am glad to have found a book that seems to be a little dark with magic and possible romance. I am very interested to see the growth in all of the characters established so far. It just seems a little repetitive when they keep mentioning that the jungle is an evil place. I would also maybe label the chapters with what perspective/who the main character is for the chapter. Everything is set up very nicely so there are cliffhangers at the ends of the provided chapters. They are done so nicely that I do not find the cliffhangers annoying (sometimes I find them annoying and it makes me want to skip to the next chapter that will mention the characters). I am also glad that the author translates and explains words where needed so as to not leave the reader confused. I look forward to reading more of this book in the future!
