Awesome world building and magic system. The characters really brought out how the story would unfold. Building timelines that ran against each other made all the difference to unfold the surprise at the end. I cannot WAIT for the next book in this series and to explore the Jungle more as well as delve further into the magic. The style of writing is a little different, but flowed well. The Jungle itself is a huge mystery and I loved all the creatures/characters that we met in it.

The Shetani being a person was the coolest way to show how much magic could distort and control a person. I also loved that the gods were still there, but not there at the same time, influencing how the story would flow. I really hope the god of death doesn't get what he wants, though I am weirdly curious how it would turn out of he got his way and wiped humans from the planet. I also hope that his brother comes back and redeems himself to be a good person/brother.
