I'm not going to lie, I walked in a little skeptical but the first impression was so well-written I really enjoyed it. This book seems so atmospheric, and that's one of my favorite things to see when reading! I appreciate that this isn't just a repeat of other stories, although I do think I see echoes of familiar tropes. This is a first impression though, so I really can't say for sure. Not a huge fan of the cover art though, I don't know why.
