AAAHH! YA fantasy is seriously lacking stories about black main characters! The bond that will grow between our two protagonists seems promising and their adventure will be fun to read. The only reason I personally wouldn’t pick this up is because I’ve been avoiding YA with characters below 17-18 y.o. I would prefer more mature characters.
