It's been a while since I was this anticipated about a new YA release that wasn't already an author I adore, but seriously, this first look had me on the edge of my bed, begging for more! I love that Ayana Gray has this mastery over both Koffi's voice within the first few pages, and also her writing is such a nice contradiction between smooth prose and nightmarish descriptions of beasts unleashed. It's amazing! I didn't read the whole thing because I claimed a copy, and I would like to read it for the first time in person... but I'm so excited for this book!!!
