This is probably one of the few young adult fantasies I have read in a while that has got me. I think there is a ease to it but also the writing is engaging.
It feels like a different direction or uniqueness for young adult? More nature? I like nature being more of a feature in Black young adult fantasy. I like the ominousness of woods and possibly a serial killer? I think it handles multiple point of views seamless. For me even though it had multiple pov over wide spaces I was still engaged. I am interest in everybody honestly. It is going to be something seeing how everyone ties into each other.
