The writing is beautifully descriptive without being overly wordy. The author was already world building in these chapters and I am starting to get a picture of Lkassa. I want to learn more about the beasts and what happed with Adiah in the start of the book. Is she the 'monster' everyone is afraid of? And I already love Koffi and I am rooting for her. I want to see where this goes and how Ekon ties in. I have a sense that both Koffi and Ekon have the 'splendor'. I'm hooked.
