I wanted to like this book but I felt like I was coming into the story-line midway through, having no idea who was where and doing what and why. The characters were flat and uninteresting and the pace of the action was almost too fast.....like the author was rushing toward something that, unfortunately never arrived at because I could not read any more. I mean, this supposedly close-knit secret unit deploys and one of them is killed immediately and barely a word is said about it. Overall I felt like it lacked 'life' and it definitely lost my attention (and I really tried to get through it). It's unfortunate because the writing was not 'bad', just lacking all the necessary information to make it interesting and to draw the reader in.
