As a U.S. Navy veteran and aunt to a brave soldier and Bronze Star for Valor recipient who died Oct. 3, 2004 in Iraq this book will probably answer some of my questions and raise many more. The book covers less than 20 years of war in the middle east. What we always seem to forget is the area has been a place of constant warfare since the 4th century.

The only way this will stop is through understanding what drives it, acceptance of difference in beliefs and honest education of those differences.

I'm constantly trying to understand why so much hate seems rooted in the middle east. They don't just hate Jews and Christians they hate other Islamic sects. I understand my nephew died fighting for his country but I don't understand why it was necessary after centuries of war that have accomplished nothing and for centuries were waged in the name of God. A God that is the same across the Jewish, Christian and Muslim religions. The God of the Old Testament of the Bible, Torah and Quran. If this book can answer just a few of the questions I have it will be greatly appreciated. Losing a loved one in war never gets easier.
