Anchored Hearts was a lovely, romance book that did a great job at expressing the power of a first love and the journey to find one' s self and follow their passions. I adored the Key West setting and all the little and big nods to Key West culture and community. I thought the descriptions of the Cuban community in Key West were spot on and lovingly crafted.

Reading about the Miranda and the Navarro families were a great examination of Cuban families and their strength and resilience. As someone who is a sucker for good family relationship drama, I was impressed by how well-written and engaging the storyline of Alejandro and his Father's fractured relationship was. Not to mention that the way that storyline was wrapped up was absolutely heart-warming. It was a nice nod to the history of Cuban families that sent their children to the USA for a better life.
