I know next to no Spanish, and while I respect the authors roots and understand how using Spanish fits the plot, I have trouble following the writing when there is intermittent Spanish dialogue mixed in. Perhaps this is basic Spanish, but unfortunately I do not know what much of it means. This made it hard for me to follow the plot. It also seemed that a lot of characters were introduced in the beginning with little defining details, and this made it difficult for me to keep track of the various characters. I also found the writing style to be wordy. The plot is an interesting premise. This book seems to have great potential, but I just felt confused after reading the first look and felt it could have used some more work. Unrelated to the plot, the cover of this book seems to be extraordinarily similar to the cover of the Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren.
