This was the first book I had read by Priscilla Oliveras but certainly won’t be the last! I love the Florida Keys and was initially intrigued by the setting. Alejandro Miranda and Anamaria Navarro grew up together in the Keys, were in love but parted after Alejandro began his traveling photographer career and Anamaria declined to leave the Keys and join him. Beforehand, Alejandro’s father had basically told him not to come back after Alejandro refused to work in the family restaurant in the Keys, originally begun in Cuba, as he wanted to pursue his own path. Alejandro’s Papi sees this as disloyalty to the family. As the book begins, Alejandro has been injured while on a shoot and has returned home, but remains estranged from his Papi. Anamaria is a paramedic locally and has her own fledgling fitness company.

Loved the portrayal of romantic heat and the rebuilding of the relationship between Alejandro and Anamaria as well as the detailing of Cuban family dynamics and values. Cuban “mami” meddling in the lives of the children was humorous and had me chuckling.

There are plenty of romantic ups and downs to keep the reader’s interest. as Alejandro and Anamaria rebuild their relationship and trust; I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
