Anamaria Navarro's life gets turned upside down when her high school love returns to Key West. She hasn't seen the award-winning photographer, Alejandro Miranda, since he left to travel the world and pursue his career, and she chose to stay in Key West. Alejandro felt he could never return after a horrible fight with his father who told him to leave and not return. Anchored Hearts is a super fun and flirty second chance romance. While the plot is a little predictable because of this trope, I still really enjoyed the book. I really liked the first book in the series as well, but ended up liking this one more as I felt Anamaria and Alejandro's relationship was far more realistic and believable than Luis and Sara's. I also really enjoy how Oliveras incorporates intimate moments without interrupting the overall story. I love that this book is more than just a romance. It also focuses on complicated family relationships and gives a glimpse into island life and Latinx culture. This was a great book to kick my spring break off with. I also feel like Oliveras is totally setting the reader up for a third book that will focus on Enrique, and I can't wait to read it (that is if it happens).
