This was a cute rom com about a photographer who is forced to return home to Key West after an accident. He also is going to come back in contact with the girl he left behind years ago who was unable to follow him on his path to follow his dreams. I loved the banter between the characters and how the author built them up separately before bringing them together. It made the story seem more developed and not rushed. I had heard some other people who were not happy with the "slow burn" of the romance, but I feel like the slow development was beneficial to the characters and making them seem more like real people.
I enjoyed the authors writing style and the way she paid attention to the culture of the island and the characters when she was writing. It made it seem more realistic to read when there was so much care put into the details. I am excited to read Island Affair now.
