I was enchanted by the synopsis and excerpt I read on BookishFirst. And the book did not disappoint. This is a sweet second chance romance story. I enjoyed reading about the Cuban-American family dynamic and some of the food descriptions made me hungry. The background setting of Key West was fantastic. The descriptions made me feel as if I were standing there.

The writing style was solid and flowed nicely. I liked the character development and getting both AM and Ale's sides of the story. The family dynamic added an additional aspect to this second chance romance. The book seemed to capture Latinx family life so well with their siblings, parents, and grandparents. The intergenerational involvement and commitment to happiness came across and felt incredibly important, and so it was nice to see how this played a part within the romance. I felt both the characters and the storyline was realistic.

I greatly enjoyed this story and look forward to reading her other books.
