Oliveras hits it outta the park
The sense of history and rich Latinx community is apparent from the first scene with Anamaria's mother. The way Oliveras layers Spanish and English together sucks you right into the complicated relationships that exist in this Cuban-American family. She also conveys Anamaria and Alejandro's tangled emotions before the characters are even in the same room. The banter is spot on and I want to read more!
