Unfortunately, though the story has great bones, this missed the mark for me. The frequent insertions of Spanish, while lending authenticity, are almost always followed by an English translation in the form of a response, which I find is disingenuous. There is also not enough about the characters' backstory or romance that I find interesting enough to want to continue.
The jacket cover is cute though, particularly how the flamingoes make a heart with their necks. You immediately get the sense that this is a romance book and the Florida Keys theme is apparent.
