First off, I love the cover of the book! The bright yellow and pink tropical colors go very well together. The flamingo makes me think of spring break or summer travel, which goes well with the book's setting of Key West.
I love the idea of an #OwnVoices travel romance. When I'm reading about Hispanic characters, it's so important that the author is Hispanic and knows what they're talking about. The cultural relevance is apparent from the first few pages, when the characters are speaking in Spanish to each other. It's so important that Hispanic authors have their chances to shine!
Lastly, I really like how the main female character Anamaria is not a stereotypical damsel in distress. She works as on an emergency response team, and i can tell that she's a strong character who won't be swept off her feet by her ex-boyfriend Alejandro. I can't wait to keep reading and find out how she ends up falling in love with Alejandro when he betrayed her and left her alone years ago to travel the world. This seems like a fun romance to read during spring break as the weather gets warmer!
