The bright, vibrant island cover immediately screams island rom-com to me and was what initially drew me into this story. This second chance romance between Anamaria and Alejandra was full of good enemies to lovers vibes, a STEM heroine, and plenty of Hispanic island family and culture. The only complaint would be a few too many sentences entirely in Spanish requiring the reader to guess what the speaker was saying from how the main character responds. It occurred back to back several times and made me stop and think while I should have been sinking deeper into the romance.
