My first bookishfirst book and I was quickly pulled into the pages. Descriptive writing that made me feel the crisp fall air, see the smiles of her family, and feel the worry when James is late on what seems to be a fateful night. Sophie is relatable as a wife and mother, all prepared for an evening out with her husband and friends fearing the worst when James is minute after minute late to return home from work. Fearing the worst, seconds of relief as he walks thru the door only to see the look she recognizes from the past that she wishes she could forget. Eleven pages was not nearly enough for me with this book and I can not wait to find out what twists and turns James and Sophie’s lives are about to take!
